In her search she stumbles across secrets and stories she never saw coming, can Honoria figure out what is causing the witches need to trap people or will the town of Arnn be plagued with legends of Witchwood Hollow forever?

I was swept away with this story. Taking place in several different time periods, we flash around between multiple characters as we dive in to each persons circumstances and how they came to know of Witchwood Hollow. All the while following our heroines story in the present tense. Honoria was a lonely girl looking for a way to reunite with the parents she lost. What she got was so much more. This story grips you with an iron fist as we stumble along with Honoria and discover the secrets surrounding the Hollow and it's curse. With a surprise ending I never saw coming this book knocked it out of the park for me. I loved the mystery and intrigue that made up this story till the very end. I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who likes to read YA Fantasy.

Detour and Derailed by Lisa Marie

OK, I'm kind of cheating in this post. It's a double whammy of the Terminal Series by Lisa Marie. Because we are so behind, we're trying to get as much caught up (which unfortunately isn't actually very much) all at once. So, today I bring you TWO reviews for Lisa Marie's new series.

Oh Landyn Pierce... You and all your soft words, they make me melt and wish I were Siannon (pronounced Shannon). I guess that's what happens when you're the lead singer of a world famous band. You become this man with an ability to woo with words. But to stay such a grounded person in the process? That's awesome. 

Lisa Marie has brought us another amazing read. What I love most about Lisa's books is that I know she's going to make me finish the book in one sitting, and probably in one afternoon. The stories are quick, and provide enough emotional connection with both characters and plot to keep the book in your hands til the very end. 

Just go and get it now. Landyn and Siannon's romance will not disappoint.

Desmond Charter, what have you done! That's what I said when I finished this book. OK, maybe I cursed... And then promptly cursed this book's author, as well.

Lisa Marie wrote a great book about Desmond Charter, a sexy drummer with a dark and lusty side. And then he meets his match in Lexi. She's as fiery as Des is sexy and loves to play, too. What starts off as a "friends with benefits" sort of thing turns into a whirlwind of unexpected emotion for the pair of them.

If you love a sassy romance and are wanting an easy to read quickie (pun intended!), I suggest picking up this book. It's the second book in a series of standalones so you could read it on it's own, or you could get Detour (book One in the Terminal series) and see what all the fuss is about with the bad boys of Terminal.

Camatic by Serena Kearney

This is a series I was introduced to in the beginning of our blog, and I loved it. Serena has written a dynamic series that is left with the openings for more stories and spin offs (which makes me so very excited!).

A sci-fi romance isn't my typical first choice, but the relationship between Estelle and Reed kept me moving forward. It was the life force of this series. Literally. Estelle's love for everything in her life propels the reader into what would seem impossible to the everyday human, but becomes the complete norm for our main characters.

Go grab this series. Seriously, it's well written, well planned and a nice change of pace with action and adventure mixed with romance. Pneuma, Surge and the final book Camatic.

Chasing Winter by Alora Kate

This story. Man, this story gutted me. This has got to be one of the most heartfelt portions to these novellas. I loved the whole series, but this one left me in such a good place.

Winter's story. Winter's battle, Chase's battle. Chase is head over heels for Winter. Winter has chosen to turn a blind eye to anyone's advances. She is comfortable in her life, alone. Until Chase finds her one night sitting in the hallway of their building, a complete wreck. Together, they share, they learn and experience. Together, they can fight anything. Right?

I cannot say enough for this series as a whole. It touches on a lot of different 'taboo' topics in society. And it's done in a mature and responsible manner. Chasing Winter was no different. I encourage you to pick up this series as a whole and dive right in! All 5 parts can be read in a day, easily. Making for one sassy beach read.

How do you handle not knowing where you come from? How do you handle it in the process of losing everything else in your life, and watching the strength you once had crumble around you? In this book, we read exactly how Phoebe handles life and the lemons she’s given, with a little sugar.

I am in ‘absolute love' with this book. Erin Everleigh's debut novel is superbly written, driving you to the end. The characters are so easy to love, mature, intense and as well developed as the story line.

If you love a classic love story, a story that tugs on your heart strings and has you rooting for that HEA, do yourself a favour and go one-click this one! I am eager to read more from Erin in the future!

Only Colin's wolf sees his mate in Arlina and the pull is strong. Mix that with a prophecy they discover is about Arlina foretelling her first born to either save or end the world. With Colin refusing to ever mate things are difficult. Leaving us to find out if Arlina can convince Colin they were meant for each other or if evil will triumph and destroy the world.

I really enjoyed this first book in The Mirrored Prophecy series. Arlina is a kick butt heroine and it's always nice to come across a strong female character like her. Colin is your swoon-worthy Alpha male who refuses to fall in love. Silly Alpha. It had consistent action and a really good story line throughout the whole thing. I do believe it is the only book published so far in the series so we are left with a unfinished story, rather than a cliff hanger that makes you want to scream. I am definitely looking forward to the next book in the series and recommend it to all the paranormal lovers out there.

Five Secrets by J. David Core

This is the fifth book in the Lupa Schwartz mystery series, which can be read as standalones. This particular one surrounds Cattleya as she's recovering from an accident that was basely caused by some disturbing secret societal issues. Cattleya got too close to one of the Five Seekers that are looking for the truth of the world's power and money. The Seekers get close to the truth which leads them on a search for more information, searching for clues amongst history, within maps, diagrams and conspiracy theories, all the while, Cattleya is acting as a double agent.

Core has built a secret society that is believable, a story that drove my need to keep moving forward, to find the truth, trying desperately to link all this information in my head. And of course, Lupa Schwartz is the detective on the outside trying to get as much information as he can to bring everything to its righteous end.

This was a good book. I wasn't able to put it down until I had gotten to the end in the wee hours of the morning. If you like some suspense with a good dose of conspiracy, pick this one up.

Our Moon by Jennifer L. Allen

I love rock stars, and I love sweet love stories. When I had the chance to read a book that combined the two without the super-smut story along with it? I had to read it. And I am so glad that I did.

This book is written in multiple POVs, which provide an intriguing and engaging read as we watch Ally suffer from amnesia, and recover from the accident that brought this on. She is guided by her brothers, Alex and Trevor, and the relationships between the three were spot-on and very realistic. It isn't long before Ally starts to feel herself pulled toward a band mate of her brothers'- Chase. What can we say as hopeless romantics? Sometimes the soul just knows, even if your head can't remember why.

I strongly recommend picking up this book. It lured me in, kept me going and the feelngs I had while I read were just perfect. Jennifer L. Allen has provided an amazing read that is fit for any age, and I will probably tell my Mom she needs to read it. Now.

Gods of Anthem by Logan Keys

Where does one start with this review, honestly? Logan Keys gave us a YA dystopian/post-apocalyptic novel that was unlike anything I've ever read. Literally within seconds of finishing, I had to e-mail Logan and said "Holy hell in a hand basket. that was AMAZING!" If I could rate it 6 stars, I would. It left me with a deep book hangover, completely unable to read for a few days afterward.

Logan has expertly woven numerous elements into one grisly, heart-wrenching story. Romance, mythical beings, an island for the sick and a shady government provided us a plot with so many twists and turns there was no way to guess what would be coming next.

This story is given to us from two points of view, one is Liza, and the other is Tommy. Liza was a patient on the island for the sick and dying. Tommy is being used as a secret weapon for the government. There are so many secondary characters that we come across, some making their mark on my soul, while others, I'm still questioning. But Tommy and Liza, working on opposite sides merge together in a unique way in the last few chapters, that left me begging for more, needing the next book NOW.

Lansing Lotte is The Lady Killer, having been in love and missing his shot with the one woman he's wanted for forever he plays the field like most musicians do. Only there's some crazy stuff happening with his band the Nights and the lead singer Arturo King. Lansing tries to navigate his way through his forbidden love by loving and leaving many women. Including the ones he really should stay away from. All the while trying to figure out just what is going on with the leader of their group Arturo. He definitely makes some mistakes along the way, but will Lansing finally find the love he's always wanted... and if he does, will it be with the right woman?

I LOVE this series. I can't count how many times I wanted to smack Lansing upside the head. There is A LOT going on, but it just made me love it more. I kept wondering what in the bloody heck was happening and what the outcome was going to be the whole time I was reading. I think I probably experienced every emotion possible. It's a roller coaster you both can't wait to finish and at the same time never want to get off. The twists and turns keep you on your toes the whole time.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a good rock star romance with a bit of mystery involved.

Ada is this strong female lead that's been living a life of smuggling refugees from Enzar after the Alliance closed off the doors and decided that Enzar was not to be a known part of the multi-verse any longer. It's the only life she knows, as Nell, her guardian took her in and showed her the ways of helping, of not trusting. Ada gains her intelligence within the Alliance through the help of Delta and Skyla, the only people she really trusts outside of her family unit.
The people smuggled in often need disguises, most can easily be disguised with common items like hair dye and contact lenses, but sometimes, they need something a little more magical to disguise their other worldly traits. Ada's next mission is to break into the Alliance headquarters and steal more "Blood Rock." Whilst there, Ada lands herself in hot water, that only gets hotter. It's also where she comes across Kay, a force on the opposing side,  who just clicked instantly with Ada, and her pursuit.
This book was written wonderfully, very interesting, never really a dull moment, and the characters were easy to connect with. I will definitely be looking to read more from Emma L. Adams, and hope to see many more adventures between Ada and Kay in the future!

You'll have to read to find out!

When I write my reviews for this series I struggle with what details to give and which to leave to surprise. I absolutely love this series and have from the beginning. Raina is such a strong female heroine that I adore and her Guardian and husband Dinan, whose strength for Raina always makes me smile. The secondary characters warm my heart and the introduction of new characters keeps me on my toes. As per usual, Lisa leaves you wanting more and I cannot wait until the next installment of the series.

The Bet by Erica M. Christensen

The Bet is a shorter novel that's picking up the story of Addison Allmon after she moves back to White Sands from her rock bottom moments back home in Norton. Erica set the story up with "The Kiss" and rocked me with a cliffhanger, as a result, I was beyond excited when this portion was delivered to my kindle.

The Kiss leaves us off with a bet between Addison and some random super hot tattooed man in a bar named Luke. Luke stumbles back into Addison's life when it's discovered that he is the nephew of her boss. She makes the connection before he does, but it doesn't take long before he's up to speed. And "The Bet" begins. 30 dates before he'll kiss her. We're taken along through the obvious sexual chemistry between the two, especially when they're forced off to an exotic locale for work purposes, and an interruption from Addison's past, which was the basis of the first book.

This isn't an angsty book, but it has some great emotional development and build up. It's a quick read, as it only took me a couple of hours to breeze through, even uninterrupted by my kids. ;)
And as a heads up, you'll be left wanting more!

Secrets and Salvation by Lianne Cotton

This book. This series. I just cannot get enough of this story. Once again L.A Cotton caught me from the beginning and took me on a journey with the characters I love so much. Jackson and Ana are characters that I literally feel how they are feeling, as I follow along with a story line that just has something special about it. Honestly, I recommend this novel as well as Loyalty and Lies every chance I get! If you haven't checked these ones out yet I urge you to do it NOW!

Turn to the Sun by Brenda Burling

Cassie is in flight mode. She's picked up little tips and tricks on how to best go about this throughout the years of living with her sketchy husband and his sketchier 'family.' Brenda keeps you intrigued, and wondering what is going on from the word 'go,' and it isn't even until about 35% in what situation Cassie is actually running from.

Brenda has written a great little novella about Cassie, her life on the outskirts of her family life and given us a strong female lead character that is easy to feel for, and associate with. Once again, I started this book blind, and was not disappointed. I cannot wait to read what Brenda Burling has in store for the future, and is an absolute must 'one-click' for me!

Surge by Serena Kearney

I read Pneuma awhile ago for Serena,and I adored it. I was excited when I was asked to read and review Surge, and was not disappointed at all. Serena has carried on the story of Estelle, her leaving Earth, and coming to terms with a whole new life, and working through the possibilities of her camatic; or soul mate all the while on edge, and ready to fight whatever battle pops up during this war she has stepped into. 

I'm not typically a sci-fi reader, but I love Serena's books because she manages to combine sci-fi and a romance story in one with it seeming completely possible, and not at all far-fetched. She makes it easy to connect with the characters, and makes me feel like I'm fighting alongside the soldiers and protecting my princess from page one to 'the end'. 

I would strongly urge you to pick up Pneuma if you haven't read it, especially since it's FREE, and then keep right on reading with this one.

The Immortals Part One: Shadows and Starstone by Cheryl Mackey

I really enjoyed this story. It was different than most stories I have read before. Right from the beginning I was sucked in. A fascinating world with a fascinating story. I really wished I had a little more background for the four and the world that they inhabited. When I went onto the goodreads page I realized that the author has another book called The Unknown Sun which actually has more of the background story that I was looking for. This was a great little novella and I can't wait to see where the story goes.

The Rub Down by Gina Sheldon

Luke is the co-owner of the prestigious spa "The Rub Down" which sounds a little sketchy, and more like a rub-n-tug, but is actually one of the best spas in Boston. Alexa is a marathon runner that's feeling the aches and pains that go along with training.

I truly enjoyed this book. Sometimes a girl just needs the HEA with the good build up and an honest to goodness building of a relationship that starts from friendship. We read along as Luke wades through the mental hardship of deciding how to befriend and date a client, without being accused of providing "happy endings" for all his clients, and Alexa, well... She doesn't make it easy on him!

Pick this book up, and enjoy a great love story.

A Chance with Spring by Alora Kate

This is the third book in this series of novellas written by Alora Kate. And I enjoyed it and devoured it as quickly as I did the first two.

In this part of the story, we are following the relationship between Spring and Chance. Spring is the older sister to Summer and Fall, who were prominent characters in the first two instalments and Chance is the man she happened to run into one day, and he thought she was an angel. That is, despite her vulgar disposition and inability to think before she speaks. Which happens to work perfectly with Chance and his bad boy, tattooed big guy image. Spring keeps her heart guarded, and we watch as Chance softens her up and finds his way in, and of course there's a bit of drama along the way!

This portion caught me off guard, in that the story's language and content was more mature than the first two. It was good, but it did take me some time to recognize it was what was needed for these characters, their lives, and the story development. Can't wait to read 3.5 and 4 from Alora!
